AkzoNobel acquires Swedish coating company

AkzoNobel recently announced the acquisition of the global assets of Swedish lindens polyurethane materials, which have been used in medical lindgens metal decorative coatings and inks, including its majority stake in the Turkish joint venture server Boya. The specific financial data were not disclosed, and the transaction is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year

this acquisition will strengthen AkzoNobel's own packaging coating business, especially its technology and expertise in the ink printing market on the outside of two metal packages. Dehenna, a member of AkzoNobel's board of directors in charge of high-performance coatings business, said: "this acquisition will strengthen our position in the field of metal packaging and decoration, and expand our business in key markets such as Russia and Turkey, where corrosion, friction and wear testing machines measure the wear resistance of related alloys, and Australia."

Peter koivula, chairman of lindgens group, said that this strategic acquisition will help ensure that all lindgens and server Boya customers around the world continue to expand international production capacity at present and in the future, and benefit from good product, technology and service support

it is reported that lindgens was founded in 2005, with a sales volume of about 25million euros in 2009. It manufactures and sells a full set of coating and ink system solutions for the metal packaging industry. AkzoNobel's packaging coatings business department is a leading global supplier of internal and external packaging coatings.
